SUBJECT: ISSUING THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE
VALENCIA MEADOWS POOL REPLASTER
DEPARTMENT: PARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
BACKGROUND
The construction for the Valencia .Meadows pool replaster per the plans and specifications
provided by Jones and Madhavan has been completed to the satisfaction of the Director of the
Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. The contractor who has performed the
work is California Commercial Pools, Inc. As of June 18, 1993, all portions of the contractual
agreement have been inspected and satisfactorily completed.
The account number for this project is 01-9240-227, with total project costs of $32,148.00. All
quantities and costs have been approved by the contractor and the Director of the Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services Department. To this -date, 90% of the contract has been
paid, while the 10% retention has been withheld awaiting the filing of the Notice of Completion.
If stop notices are received by the City after the filing of the Notice of Completion, but prior to the
35 -day waiting period, the entire 10% retention will not be released, but will be reduced by the
amount of the stop notices.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council accept the work performed by California Commercial Pools, Inc. and authorize
release of funds held for retention, with the exception of sufficient funds to cover stop notices
which may be filed prior to the end of the 35 -day waiting period.
The City Council also direct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for the project.
