SUBJECT: REDESIGNATION OF THE ROUTE 126 BRIDGE AND MAJOR THOROUGHFARE
(B & T) CONSTRUCTION FEE DISTRICT AND THE RENAMING OF THE
ROUTE 126 EXPRESSWAY TO EASTSIDE B & T DISTRICT

BACKGROUND
At the Council meeting of November 24, 1992, the Via Princessa and the Bouquet Canyon Bridge
and Thoroughfare Districts and revisions to the Route 126 B & T District were approved. At that
meeting, the Council directed the following:
1) Rename the "Route 126 B & T District' to "Eastside B & T District'.
This would more appropriately address the area the District benefits, rather than having It
named after one project In the District.
2) Designate the proposed "Route 126 Expressway" as an "unnamed east -west roadway" In all
three B & T districts.
The City Attorney has indicated an approved resolution will accomplish these motions of the
Council.
1) Adopt the attached resolution to rename the Route 126 B & T District and redesignate the
Route 126 Expressway to Eastside B & T District.
2) Direct the City Clerk to record the adopted resolution with the County recorder.

RESOLUTION NO. 93-4
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA; RENAMING THE ROUTE 126
BRIDGE AND MAJOR THOROUGHFARE (B & T) CONSTRUCTION FEE
DISTRICT TO THE "EASTSIDE B & T DISTRICT,' AND REDESIGNATING THE
PROPOSED "ROUTE 126 EXPRESSWAY' AS AN "UNNAMED EAST -WEST ROADWAY"
IN ALL THREE B & T DISTRICTS (BOUQUET CANYON, ROUTE 126 AND VIA PRINCESSA)
WHEREAS, the Bouquet Canyon B & T District was adopted by Resolution No. 89-147 on
November 28,1989; and
WHEREAS, the Route 126 B & T District was adopted by Resolution No. 89.148 on November
28, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the Via Princessa B & T District was approved by Resolution 92-225 on
November 24,1992; and
WHEREAS, the three mentioned districts have as a portion of their project list a road named,
"Route 126 Expressway;" and
WHEREAS, opposition to the proposed Route 126 location through Santa Clarita has been
voiced by local residents; and
WHEREAS, the Route 126 B & T District Is named after a single road project within the
district; and
WHEREAS, redeslgnating the Route 126 Expressway to an "unnamed east -west roadway"
In all three districts will more property Indicate the proposed and undecided nature of the route
location of the roadway; and
WHEREAS, renaming the Route 126 B &.T District to the "Eastside B & T District" will more
properly Indicate the area of benefit, as do the names of the other districts, rather than having it
named after one project In the district, and
WHEREAS, this renaming and redesignation complies with motions made by the City
Council at their regular meeting on November 24, 1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF. THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA does hereby
resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the "Route 126 Expressway" project referenced to in all three districts be
redesignated the "unnamed east -west roadway."
Section 2. That the Route 126 B & T District be renamed to the "Eastside B & T District."
Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarlta Is hereby directed to record the
adopted resolution with the County recorder.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution.
