In another Issue related to storm damage repair, staff is requesting Council approval to transfer
funds from the Contingency Fund to repair storm damage to Wellhaven Street. This repair is
estimated to cost approximately $37,000 and has been approved for funding by FEMA. The work
must be completed by the City before FEMA will refund our expenses. At that time, the money will
be returned to the Contingency Account.
Half this street has been closed Tor the last four months waiting for the soils to dry enough to allow
repair. Staff Is working with County Public Works to perform the construction of a "French Drain"
system to alleviate the problem. Due to the cancellation of the first meeting In August, staff Is
requesting this fund transfer be performed at this time. This will allow the work to proceed as
quickly as possible.
Staff recommends that the City Council:
Authorize the transfer of funds from the Contingency Account, 01-4101-290, to the Welihaven
Account 25-96083.227.
