Item to be presented Jeff Kolin, Dep ty ity Manager 1� qw I BIN REPLACEMENT SERVICE PERMIT -PROGRESS REPORT PUBLIC WORKS, SOLID WASTE DIVISION At the January 11, 1994 City Council meeting, council approved a schedule to continue negotiations with waste haulers applying for the Bin Replacement Service Permit. The schedule included negotiation meetings on January 12 and January 25, 1994 and a Public Information meeting on January 18, 1994. The meetings on January 18 and 25 were postponed due to the earthquake on January 17, 1994. Rescheduling Meetings Staff contacted the Bin Replacement Service applicants, the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Valencia Industrial Association (VIA) to determine appropriate times to reschedule the Bin Replacement Service Permit meeting and the Public Information meeting.. The Chamber and VIA agreed to a Public Information meeting on March 2, 1994 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m, in the basement of the Bank of America building. The Bin Replacement Service applicants have been informed of this meeting. Following this meeting, Staff has arranged to meet with the Bin Replacement Service applicants on March 29, 1994 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the basement of the Bank of America building. RECOMMENDATION Direct staff to continue negotiations with Bin Replacement Service applicants and meet with local businesses to discuss the effects of the proposed Bin Replacement Service Permit. council\2-22-94.agn
