HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-11-14 - AGENDA REPORTS - CALTRANS MAINTENANCE AGMT (2)AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented y; Rick Putnam CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: November 14, 1995 SUBJECT: CALTRANS MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR THE SANTA CLARA RIVER TRAIL PHASE II DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services BACKGROUND The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department, under the direction of the Santa Clara River Water and Recreation Features Study and the City's General Plan, has begun construction of the Santa Clara River Trail. The first phase was completed in April 1995. The second phase began construction in July 1995. In order to complete construction of a portion of the Santa Clara River Trail Phase II, a maintenance agreement between the City and Caltrans will be needed. This section of the trail is located from Highway 14 east to Lost Canyon Road on the south side of Highway 14 within the Caltrans right-of-way. The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the maintenance agreement. There will be no fiscal impact as a result of this request. RECOMMENDATION 1. City Council approve entering into a maintenance agreement with Caltrans for the purpose of maintaining a portion of the Santa Clara River Trail Phase II. 2. City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a Caltrans encroachment permit for the construction of this section of the Santa Clara River Trail Phase II.
