SUBJECT: CITY PARKS JANITORIAL SERVICES
DEPARTMENT: PARKS,'RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
BACKGROUND
The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department has completed the bidding process
for City park janitorial services. The contractor will perform services seven days per week at the
following park sites: Old Orchard, Santa Clarita, Canyon Country, Newhall, Valencia Glen,
Valencia Meadows, Bouquet Canyon, North Oaks, and Begonias Lane.
Bid advertisement began July 9, 1995, and a Notice Inviting Bids was mailed to 18 vendors,
including the Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce. Six bids were subsequently received by the
City Clerk and opened on July 27, 1995. The following bids were received

Staff anticipates awarding the contract by September 1, 1995. The contract term is for one year
with an annual option to renew for three additional years..
Funding has been approved and budgeted in fiscal year 1995-96 account no. 01-9220-227.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council approve the award of contract for janitorial services to Davila & Sons as the most
qualified lowest bidder and authorize the Mayor to execute contract with Davila & Sons in the
amount of $30,997.44, and authorize an additional $6,000.00 for change orders and new park sites
which may become necessary once the contract is in effect.
Funding for janitorial services has been approved and budgeted in fiscal year 1995-96 account
no. 01-9220-227.
