SUBJECT: City Parks Repair Project No. PR 95-038
Project Acceptance & Notice of Completion
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
At the meeting of March 28, 1995, the City Council awarded a contract to McAlpine & Salyer
Construction Company for earthquake repairs of seven park sites. The project is eligible for
FEMA reimbursement.
McAlpine & Salyer completed this project to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services on September 5, 1995. City Council previously authorized
expenditures for up to $132,840 for this contract which was completed on schedule and at a cost
of $95,876. During the term of the contract, several work items were deleted from the contracts
original scope -of -work due to lack of FEMA funding, this explains the difference in cost.
The City Council accept the project and direct the City Clerk to record the attached Notice
of Completion.
2. At the expiration of 35 days from the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion,
direct staff to release the amount deducted from the final estimate and retain, except such
amounts as are required by law to be withheld by properly executed and filed notices to
stop payment.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee of a certain public
improvement known as: City Parks Repair Project No. PR 95-038.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvement is: Newhall Park 24923 Newhall Ave., Old
Orchard Park 25023 Avenida Rotella., Valencia Glenn Park 23750 Via Gavola., Valencia Meadows
Park 25671 Fedala Rd., Santa Clarita Park 27285 Seco Cyn Rd., North Oaks Park 27824 Camp
Plenty Rd., and Canyon Country Park 17615 Soledad Canyon Road.
4, On March 28, 1995 a contract to repair said public improvement was awarded to: McAlpine &
Salyer Construction Co., 15709 Illinois Avenue, Paramount, California 90723.
5. Work under said contract was completed on September 5, 1995 to the satisfaction of the Director
of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on
September 26, 1995.
