DEPARTMENT: City Manager
BACKGROUND
This item is on the agenda to inform the City Council of the election events which will occur
during the next few months before election. The attached election calendar includes dates of
all activities, adoption of resolutions, campaign filing dates, etc.
RECOMMENDATION
Council accept this item for information purposes only.

10/27/95 Precinct and Polls Section mail to City Clerk precinct maps, registration
figures, polling place locations.
11/1/95 Suggested last day to file petitions regarding measures. (E-160)
11/7/95 Resolution adopted calling election and giving notice of election and
submission to voters regarding measures. (E-127)..
11/7/95 Resolution requesting services of County Clerk and calling the election to
be sent to the Board of Supervisors for action. (E-127)
11/9/95 Letters sent to County Board of Supervisors and County Clerk's Office
regarding resolutions adopted requesting County services and calling
election.

Jan/Feb. Transmit letters to all organizations and VIP lists to speak on importance of
voting.
January Host a meeting with political organizations to discuss voter turnout plan and
solicit assistance.

2/1/96 Create and place banner on paseo bridges
March Provide wording for S.C. Athletic Club sign for month prior to election
