SUBJECT: LOS ANGELES RETARDED CITIZENS' FOUNDATION (LARC)
ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY (RESO. 95-106)
DEPARTMENT: Community Development
The Los Angeles County Community Development Commission (CDC) is lending LARC funds
from the federal HOME Investment Partnership Program for the purpose of acquiring additional
unimproved land. In the future, this land will be developed with a group home to house
mentally retarded individuals.: Since the land acquisition will occur within the City of Santa
Clarita, the City must approve the CDC authorization of HOME Program funds and make
findings that the land acquisition is consistent with the City's General Plan and Comprehensive
Housing Affordability Strategy (CHAS). Both the City's General Plan and CHAS contain policies
to provide housing opportunities for special needs populations consistent with the CDC proposal.
