SUBJECT: FORMAL BID AWARD TR -95-96-01- SOLEDAD METROLINK
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE FOR FY 95/96
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
Current bid requirements dictate the necessity of a formal bid for landscape maintenance for
Fiscal Year 1995-96. To facilitate this process, staff advertised a Notice Inviting Bids in the
Daily News and the Newhall Signal on May 28, May 31, and June 4, 1995, with a bid
opening date of June 22, 1995. Staff also mailed copies of the Notice Inviting Bids to the
Santa Clarita and Canyon Country Chambers of Commerce as well as 18 suppliers who had
submitted information for the supplier files in the General Services Division. The following
bids were received on June 22, 1995:

Staff has reviewed the responses and recommends award of TR -95-96-01 to Foothill
Landscape, the lowest, most -qualified bidder.
Direct staff to issue a purchase order in the amount of $14,000 as appropriated in FY 95/96,
and authorize the Mayor to execute a contract for landscape maintenance service at the
Metrolink Station to Foothill Landscape as specified in TR -95-96-01.
