HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-06-13 - AGENDA REPORTS - PROJ 99 029 01 PROJ ACCEPT (2)AGENDA REPORT Cityanager pproval� Item to be presented b Rick Pu e am G CONSENT CALENDAR LY DATE: June 13, 1995 SUBJECT: Chuck Pontius Commuter Rail Trail Building Demolition Project No. 99-029-01 - Project Acceptance DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services BACKGROUND At its meeting of February 28, 1995, the City Council awarded a contract to Certified Contracting Services, Inc. for the demolition of the facility commonly known as Far West Rent-A-Car (21340 Soledad Canyon Road). This project was made available through Proposition C grant funds specifically earmarked for this purpose. Certified Contracting Services, Inc. completed this project to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on May 11, 1995. City Council previously authorized expenditures up to $57,440 for this contract, which was completed on schedule and at a cost of $48,500. RECOMMENDATION 1, The City Council accept the project and direct the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of Completion. 2. At the expiration of 35 days from the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion, direct staff to release the amount deducted from the final estimate and retained, except such amounts as are required by law to be withheld by properly executed and filed notices to stop payment. Project by City 4 Santa Clarita Space Above This Line For Recorder's Use -----------------------------------------------------------------.----______-------------------------__------------------------------- NOTICE OF COMPLETION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: 1, The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner of all right, title and interest to that certain original commercial lease dated May 14, 1980 by and between Southern Pacific Transportation Company and James Patton, along with those improvements located on the property commonly known as: 21340 Soledad Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91350. 2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196, 3. On February 28, 1995, a contract to remove all improvements from said property was awarded to: Certified Contracting Services, Inc., 16223 Victory Boulevard, Van Nuys, California 91406.: 4. Work under said contract was performed in accordance with a public works project known as: Chuck Pontius Commuter Rail Trail Building Demolition - Project No. 99-029-01. 5. Work under said contract was completed on May 11, 1995 to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on June 13, 1995.
