SUBJECT: Soledad Canyon Road Median Landscape Improvements
Project No. 99-028 - Project Acceptance
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
BACKGROUND
At its meeting of September 13, 1994, the City Council awarded a contract to California
Landscape, Inc. for the landscaping of medians on Soledad Canyon Road between Kenroy
Avenue and Shadow Pines Boulevard and on December 13, 1994, the City Council authorized
extension of this project westward to Miss Grace Drive and eastward to Begonias Lane. This
project was made available through Public Financing Authority (PFA) and Transportation
Development Act (TDA) Article 8 funds earmarked for this purpose.
California Landscape, Inc. completed this project to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services on May 16, 1995. City Council previously authorized
expenditures up to $705,980 for this contract, which was completed on schedule and at a cost
of $686,939.63.
RECOMMENDATION
L The City Council accept the project and direct the City Clerk to record the attached
Notice of Completion.
2. At the expiration of 35 days from the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion,
direct staff to release the amount deducted from the final estimate and retained, except
such amounts as are required by law to be withheld by properly executed and filed
notices to stop payment.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-of-way
upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as: Soledad Canyon
Road Median Landscape Improvements - Project No. 99-028.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvement is: Soledad Canyon Road between Miss Grace
Drive and Shadow Pines Boulevard, and Shadow Pines Boulevard between Soledad Canyon Road
and Begonias Lane.
4, On September 13, 1994, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to:
California Landscape, Inc., 7755 Deering Avenue, Canoga Park, California 91304.
Work under said contract was completed on May 16, 1995 to the satisfaction of the Director of
Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on June 13, 1995.
