SUBJECT: TEMPORARY PARKING - HASKELL CANYON ROAD
RESOLUTION NO. 95-57
DEPARTMENT: Community Development
"XIMITITIMINkro
The Traffic Engineering staff recently received a request from Brock Canyon Villas to allow
temporary parking along Haskell Canyon Road.
Brock Canyon Villas is requesting temporary parking along the east side of Haskell Canyon
Road for approximately 2,000 feet near the intersection of Bob White Circle, for a period of five
days in July 1995. The request is due to the upcoming slurry and maintenance of the parking
lot.
ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS
Haskell Canyon Road is a four lane secondary road (presently striped for two lanes) with
parking prohibited on most portions of both sides in the requested area. Allowing parking along
the east side closest to the villas would discourage the tenants/visitors from parking in the
residential area on the west side and jaywalking across the street to the complex.
It has been indicated by Mr. Bob Nolan (Brock Canyon Villas) that all of the necessary costs to
the City for allowing the temporary parking would be paid by the Company.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution No. 95-57, authorizing staff to allow temporary parking on the requested dates
on Haskell Canyon Road, and authorize staff to evaluate and recommend temporary parking
along other roads on future dates for the same type of usage.
Direct staff to adjust the existing signs to affect this Resolution and invoice the applicants for
all related costs.
