HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-11-14 - AGENDA REPORTS - VEHICLES FOR PARKS DIVISION (2)AGENDA REPORT-71Yanage CitApproval Item to be presented by: Rick Putnam CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: November 14, 1995 SUBJECT: AWARD CONTRACT TO PURCHASE THREE VEHICLES FOR PARKS DIVISION DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department recently accepted bids for the purchase of three 3/4 -ton pickup trucks. The vehicles will be used by the Park Planning, Building Maintenance, and Urban Forestry sections. The vehicle purchase is a direct result of increased field activity in these areas. A Request for Bids (RFB) was advertised for public response. In addition to local newspaper advertisement, 28 RFB notices were mailed out; eight of these were mailed to local companies. A total of two companies bid on the contract. The bid comparisons are as follows: Company Location Bid Fuller Ford Chula Vista $57,601 Don Kott Ford Carson City $61,963 After review of both bids, staff finds Fuller Ford to be the lowest responsible bidder, Funds for the purchase have been budgeted in account no. 01-9200-405 in the amount of $57,601. RECOMMENDATION City Council award the contract for the purchase of three 3/4 -ton pickup trucks to Fuller Ford as the lowest responsive bidder and authorize City Manager to execute contract with Fuller Ford in the amount of $57,601, REP:RLM.dispp WED cm=t113uhawrd.r1m Agenda Item:. 3-
