Orchard Rooms A & B 23920 Valencia Blvd., 1st Floor Santa Clarita, CA 91355 AGENDA *Study Sessions are for the purpose of allowing the City Council and staff to informally discuss and better understand major issues currently before the City. CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL FLAG SALUTE Item 1 7:00 P.M. LONG RANGE FINANCIALPLAN - In the 1994 Organizational Strategic Plan, the need for a Citywide Long Range Financial Plan was ranked as a top priority for the City for the period 1994-97. In accordance with this and in order to better prepare for the challenges facing the City in the next twenty years, City staff has been preparing a Long Range Financial Plan which will be presented to Council. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive report. Item 2 7:30 P.M. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY - This presentation will summarize to Council the proposed economic strategy and to highlight the program direction and issues facing the City's economic development effort. RECOMMENDED ACTION. Provide comment and direction regarding the economic development program. Item 3 8:00 P.M. CITYWIDE YARD TRIMMINGS RECYCLING PROGRAM - This presentation will focus on the yard trimmings program cost alternatives, program design, and program implementation/enforcement. RECOMMENDED ACTION. Receive report and determine the preferred yard trimmings recycling program option and return to Council in October with final program development and implementation strategy. September 5, 1995 Item 4 8:45 P.M. PRESENTATION - The City Manager will make a presentation on products produced by the Investment in Youth Task Force that is being distributed to all California Cities: (1) League of California Cities Policy on children and family; (2) Video - "The Cost of Denial'; (3) Fact sheet - "The Cost of Denial; (4) Handbook on development of community Youth Master Plan.
