SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO SANTA CLARITA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION
12.64.120 REGARDING PASSENGER LOADING ON SOUTH SIDE OF
WILEY CANYON ROAD
ORDINANCE NO. 96-1

BACKGROUND
Mr. Arnold Crawford, the Property Manager of Orchard Arms Sr. Apartments, located at 23520
Wiley Canyon Road, has requested the City to provide an area in front of the complex to allow
easier passenger loading and unloading.
Traffic Engineering staff has field -checked the area and recommends to provide the following:
An area to be designated for a "Passenger Loading Zone" in front of 23520 Wiley Canyon Road,
for a distance of 100 feet along the south side of Wiley Canyon Road, starting easterly from 405
feet from the beginning at the curb return at Orchard Village Road (see Exhibit 1.)
The Santa Clarita Municipal Code was adopted in 1987.. The Code has been reviewed and
updated periodically to incorporate improvements and changes required by legislation and/or
motivated by more efficient practices. Staff has reviewed Section 12.64.120 (Passenger Loading)
and concluded that this section requires to be amended to provide an area as described above
to accommodate the necessary loading and unloading passenger zone.
At the meeting of December 12, 1995, Council approved and passed to second reading,
Ordinance No. 96-1 regarding passenger loading policy.
City Council waive further reading, and adopt Ordinance No. 96-1, amending the Municipal
Code at Title 12,

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
SECTION 12.64.120 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
REGARDING PASSENGER LOADINGS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. To add Part 4, to paragraph A of Section 12.64.120 of the Santa Clarita
Municipal Code to read as follows:
4 For a distance of 100 feet along the south side of Wiley Canyon Road starting
easterly from 405 feet from the beginning of the curb return at Orchard Village Road.
