HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-10-22 - AGENDA REPORTS - BOUQUET CYN TRAIL PHASE II (2)AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented by: Rick Putnam CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: October 22, 1996 SUBJECT: BOUQUET CANYON TRAIL PHASE II PROJECT NO. 99-045 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services At its meeting of June 13, 1995, the City Council awarded a contract to R. C. Becker and Sons, Inc. for the construction of the Bouquet Canyon Trail Phase II on the northerly side of Newhall Ranch Road, between Magic Mountain Parkway and McBean Parkway. The project is approximately 1-1/4 miles long. This project was made available through the use of developer contributions and TDA Article 3 grant funds. The construction budget was $190,900, including contingencies, and the project was completed for the amount of $189,200. The project was completed in phases due to delays in obtaining necessary project permits from the Los Angeles County Flood Control District and the development of an adjacent shopping center. All permits were obtained for this project, and R.C. Becker and Sons, Inc. completed this project to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on September 27, 1996. 1. The City Council accept the project and direct the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of Completion. 2. At the expiration of 35 days from the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion, direct staff to release the amount deducted from the final payment and retention, except such amounts as are required by law to be withheld by properly executed and filed notices to stop payment.
