Community Services Grant Program
Parks, Recreation and Community Services
The City has received requests from the Symphony of the Canyons and Canyon Theater Guild
to have their Community Services grant applications revisited for FY 1995-96 grant funding.
In December 1995, the City Council awarded $25,900 in grant funds to organizations through
the Community Services Grant Program and set aside $11,600 for unanticipated future requests
as recommended by the Committee. These funds are available for grant awards and are
budgeted in account number 01-9000-227.
For fiscal year 1995-96, the Community Services grant criteria is based on the extent
organizations meet the City's priority focus areas of youth and family, cultural understanding
and the extent to which proposals demonstrate collaboration with other organizations.
The Community Services Grant Committee met on March 5, 1996, to revisit requests, reconsider
funding, and make recommendations to the City Council as outlined in Table 1.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council to approve the Committee's recommendation as outlined in Table 1 and direct staff
to execute an agreement with the Symphony of the Canyons for $3,000 of grant funds.
