Home My WebLink About1996-05-14 - AGENDA REPORTS - COUNTY LIGHTING MAINT DIST (6)AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: May 14, 1996 City Manager Approv Item to be presented Bahman Janka SUBJECT: COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT - CONSENT AND JURISDICTION ANNEXATION OF PARCEL MAP NO. 13521 RESOLUTION NO. 96-50 DEPARTMENT: Building and Engineering Services This item requests that the City Council consider granting consent and jurisdiction to the Los Angeles County Lighting MaintenanceDistrict to annex territory located in the City to the District. The proposed District is Parcel Map No. 13521 at Beneda Lane and Mirror Way (see attachment). As development occurs throughout the City, the installation of street lights is required. The developer is required to pay the cost of installing the lights and the cost of energy and maintenance until the area is annexed into a Lighting Maintenance District. The Los Angeles County Lighting Maintenance District was established to provide for the cost of this maintenance. The lights, once installed, are owned by the Southern California Edison Company. Each year they charge the District for the cost of energy and maintenance. The District then assesses their costs against the property owners within the District. There is no fiscal impact to the City in granting consent. RECOMMENDATION The City Council adopt Resolution No. 96-50 granting consent and jurisdiction to the County of Los Angeles in the matter of Project No. 288-107. ATTACHMENTS Resolution No. 96-50 with Map (Project No. 288-107, Parcel Map No. 13521) WFW:lkl m CMN-50.wfw AND", F-0 A enda Items L' a ii Um RESOLUTION NO. 96-50 RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURISDICTION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES IN THE MATTER OF COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 1867 AND COUNTY LIGHTING DISTRICT LLA -1 CITY OF SANTA CLARITA PROJECT NO. 288-107 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of LosAngeles is about to commence proceedings under Division Nos. 7 and 15 of the Streets and Highways Code for the annexation of territory to County Lighting Maintenance District 1867 and County Lighting District LLA -1; and WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street lights installed in the City of Santa Clarita; and WHEREAS, all of the land included in the proposed annexation lies within the boundary of the City of Santa Clarita, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, as follows. SE=-TOI,I--Il That this City Council hereby consents to the annexation of said territory, as shown on the attached map and/or described in the attached legal description, included within the boundaries of said annexation, lying within the boundary of the City of Santa Clarita. SECTI9N�-IV That the consent of this City is hereby given to the commencement of the proceedings for said annexation to County Lighting Maintenance District 1867 and County Lighting District LLA -1 by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, and to the exercise of exclusive jurisdiction of said Board of Supervisors over all proceedings necessary thereto for the purpose of consummating the same, all in accordance with the provisions of Division Nos. 7 and 15 of the Streets and Highways Code. S-F=ON_-IS The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution by the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, and shall cause the same to be, posted in three (3) conspicuous places in the, City of Santa Clarita, and it shall thereupon take effect.
