SUBJECT: GRANT OF EASEMENT AGREEMENT

On July 8, 1996, Father Patrick A. Power of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, requested that
the City of Santa Clarita create a permanent easement to save the City tree from removal in
front of the church at 23233 Lyons Avenue. The amount of root pruning required to reinstall
the sidewalk in the same location would endanger the health and safety of the tree. Forming
the sidewalk six -feet into the church property would allow room for preventive root pruning and
save the tree. Father Power agreed with this plan. The easement for construction and
permanent use involves a 6 x 20 foot strip on Lyons Avenue.
1. City Council approve the Easement for Construction and Permanent Use Agreement
between the City of Santa Clarita and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
2. Authorize City Manager to execute the agreement.
3. Direct City Clerk to record the document.
