SUBJECT: LYONS AVENUE TRAFFIC SIGNAL INTERCONNECT
PROJECT NO. 96-076 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE

On October 10, 1995, Council awarded a contract for the subject project to DBX, Inc. The work
was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on April 29, 1996, for a total construction
cost of $198,964.25.
This project involves installation of hardwire interconnect at the existing traffic signals along
Lyons Avenue from I-5 to San Fernando Road. This project will improve synchronization of the
traffic lights and thus reduce travel times and delays along the corridor. The project will also
enable City staff to monitor and/or control the traffic lights from City Hall via a telephone line.
The City Council 1) accept the work performed by DBX, Inc.; 2) direct the City Clerk to file the
attached Notice of Completion for the project; and 3) direct staff to release the 10% retention
35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices, as provided by law,
have been filed.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the
right-of-way upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known
as: Lyons Avenue Traffic Signal Interconnect, Project No. 96-076.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvement is: Lyons Avenue from 1-5 northbound to
San Fernando Road.
4, On October 10, 1995, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to
DBX, Inc., 42066 Avenida Alvarado, Suite C, Temecula, CA 92590.
5. Work under said contract was completed on April 29, 1996, to the satisfaction of the City
Engineer, and was accepted by the City on May 28, 1996.
