SUBJECT: SANTA CLARITA METROLINK STATION IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE II
PROJECT NO. 95-036 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Building and Engineering Services
On January 9, 1996, Council awarded a contract for the subject project to AMD Construction.
Improvements include landscaping, a new stairway canopy, existing canopy upgrades, and a new
security building. This construction effort is being undertaken to meet the needs of the City's
expanding transit operations. The City successfully coordinated the construction of this project
with the City Artist, Viqui McCaslin, as well as Phases II and III of her improvements for the
same site.
This project was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on November 19, 1996. The
total contract amount for AMD Construction was $378,865.00. The total estimated construction
cost for this project was approximately $400,000.00. The total project budget for construction
was $413,000.00.
Account Nos. 17-96087-227 and 55-96087-227 in the amount of $625,000.00 were established
to track all costs associated with this work. On March 14, 1995, the City Council approved
$211,562 from the above accounts for. Phases II and III of the City's Art Project located on the
Metrolink site.
1. Accept Phase II of the project and direct the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of
Completion.
2. Direct staff to release the amount deducted from the final estimate and retained 35 days
after the Notice of Completion is recorded, except such amounts as are required by law to
be withheld by properly executed and filed notices to stop payment.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the
right-of-way upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known
as: Santa Clarita Metrolink Improvements - Phase II, Project No. 96-087.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvement is: SoIedad Canyon Road and Commuter
Way.
4. On January 9, 1996, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to: AMD
Construction, 1403 N. Batavia, Suite 101, Orange, CA 92667.
5. Work under said contract was completed on November 19, 1996, to the satisfaction of the
City Engineer, and was accepted by the City on December 10, 1996.
