SUBJECT: South Fork Trail Phase IV
Project No. 99-044 - Project Acceptance

At its meeting of August 22, 1995, the City Council awarded a contract to R. C. Becker and Sons,
Inc. for the construction of the South Fork Trail extension between Magic Mountain Parkway
and McBean Parkway along the southerly trail corridor. This project was made available
through Developer Contributions, Proposition A Funds, Petroleum Violation Escrow Account
(PVEA) funds, and TDA Article 3 funds.
R.C. Becker and Sons, Inc. completed this project to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services on February 15, 1996. Due to project plan revisions
required by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, additional funds were necessary to
complete the project in a timely manner. These project revisions included upgrades to trail and
abutment protection beneath the Valencia Boulevard Bridge. The original contract for this
project was $550,000 with costs of approximately $40,000 associated with the additional County
requirements increasing the total project cost to $590,000. Additional funds through interest
earned on developer contributions in the amount of $40,000 are available for this project.
L The City Council appropriate interest earned on Developer Contributions to account 14-
99044-227 and increase the contract amount by $40,000.
2. The City Council accept the project and direct the City Clerk to record the attached
Notice of Completion.
3. At the expiration of 35 days from the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion,
direct staff to release the amount deducted from the final estimate and retained, except
such amounts as are required by law to be withheld by properly executed and filed
notices to stop payment.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. The City of Santa Clarity, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-of-way
upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as: South Fork Trail
Phase IV - Project No. 99-044.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196
3. The general location of said public improvement is: Southerly section of the South Fork River
Corridor between Magic Mountain Parkway and McBean Parkway.
4. On August 10, 1995, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to: R.C. Becker
and Sons, Inc., 22422 12th Street, Santa Clarita, California 91321.
Work under said contract was completed on February 15,1995 to the satisfaction of the Director
of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on April 16,1996.
