SUBJECT: WEST NEWHALL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT - PHASE 1 -
PROJECT NO. 95-504
DEPARTMENT: Building and Engineering Services
This project will install curbs, gutters, and sidewalks, and reconstruct streets in the West
Newhall area where no such improvements currently exist. Community Development staff has
selected 15th Street from San Fernando Road to Newhall Avenue and Walnut Street from
14th Street to 15th Street for the first phase of this project (see Exhibit A).
On November 14, 1995, the City Council authorized staff to proceed with the design of Phase 1
of the subject project. The design is complete and the project is scheduled to begin construction
in July 1996. Plans and specifications are available for review in the offices of the City Clerk
and the City Engineer.
This project is funded by Community Development Block Grant funds. Account No. 12-95504-
227 has been established to track all associated costs.
The City Council approve the plans and specifications for West Newhall Improvements - Phase 1
and authorize the advertising for bids.
