NO. 43528, LOCATED AT SHANGRI-LA DRIVE AND NATHAN HILL
ROAD - ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997-98
RESOLUTION NO. 97-76
DEPARTMENT: Building & Engineering Services
The County of Los Angeles had previously established Drainage Benefit Assessment Area No. 6
to provide maintenance of a subsurface drainage system constructed to ensure stability of the
slopes constructed for Tract No. 43528. The proposition was submitted to the eligible voters in
this area, and a majority of voters approved the formation of the District and the levying of the
assessment. Since that time, this former County area now falls within the jurisdiction of the
City of Santa Clarita. Each year thereafter, the City Council may determine and impose an
annual assessment. The annual Engineer's Report has been prepared and is on file with the
City Clerk.
Drainage Benefit Assessment Area No. 6 was originally formed on January 28, 1986. The
assessment last year was $159.00. The estimated assessment for Fiscal Year 1997-98 is
$159.00, the same as last year. The proposed assessment is in compliance with Proposition 218.
At this hearing, the Council may approve the report or modify the report and approve it. Once
the assessments are confirmed, they will be placed on the County tax roll to be collected with
General County Taxes. Notices of this public hearing were published in compliance with Senate
Bill 1977 to notify the property owners of this assessment.
