Under Article 8 of the Transportation Development Act, cities must use the County's Local Transportation funds to meet local transit needs. Once local transit needs have been satisfied, the funds may be used for street and road improvements. The City's allocation of TDA Article 8 funds for the 1997-1998 fiscal year is $3,149,097. Staff has prepared Resolution No. 97-108, which serves as a formal request from the City Council to the MTA that the City wishes to apply for all TDA Article 8 funds available to the City of Santa Clarita. RECOMMENDATION That the City Council approve Resolution No. 97-108, approving the application for local streets and roads funds authorized under Article 8 of the Transportation Development Act.
