SUBJECT: MEDIAN AND TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATIONS
PROJECT NO. 95-043 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Building and Engineering Services
On April 23, 1996, City Council awarded a contract for the subject project to Steiny and
Company. This project provided for the.extension of the left -turn pocket in the southbound
direction of the intersection of McBean Parkway and Arroyo Park Drive, and the modification
of traffic signals at the following locations: McBean Parkway at Arroyo Park Drive, Orchard
Village Road at Wiley Canyon Road, and Lyons Avenue at Wiley Canyon Road.
This project was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on October 11, 1996 for a
total construction cost of $165,982.72. This project was completed on schedule and under
budget. The total project budget for FY 1996-97 is $183,408.00, consisting of a combination of
Gas Tax, Proposition C, TDA Article 8, and PFA funds.
1. City Council accept the work performed by Steiny & Company for Median and Traffic Signal
Modifications, Project No. 95-043.
2. City Council direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion for the project.
3. City Council direct staff to release the 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice of
Completion is recorded, provided no Stop Notices as provided by law have been filed.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-
of-way upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as:
Median and Traffic Signal Modifications - Project No. 95-043.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Claritai CA 91355-
2196.
3. The general locations of said public improvement are: Citywide.
4. On April 23, 1996, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to: Steiny
and Company, 12907 East Garvey Avenue, Baldwin Park, California 91706.
5. Work under said contract was completed on October 11, 1996 to the satisfaction of the City
Engineer, and was accepted by the City on February 25, 1997.
