Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion. Direct staff to release the ten percent retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices, as provided by law, have been filed. On June 25, 1996, Council awarded a contract for the subject project to Steven Rodgers, General Engineering and Building Contractor. This project involves hardwire interconnect installation along Valencia Boulevard/Soledad Canyon Road, from I-5 northbound to McBean Parkway, and from Bouquet Canyon Road to Golden Oak Road. It also includes installation of interconnect conduit and cable from the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and Citrus Street to City Hall. This work was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on October 17, 1997. The contractor's scheduling conflicts delayed project completion for several months. However, the project was completed under budget. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS 1. No alternative actions identified by staff. 2. Other action as determined by Council. FISCAL IMPACT Total budget for this project was $319,505.00. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-of- way upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as: Traffic Signal Interconnect Installation on Valencia Boulevard/Soledad Canyon Road, Project No. 95-030 (C0008). 2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196. 3. The general location of said public improvement is: Valencia Boulevard from the I-5 off -ramp to McBean Parkway and Soledad Canyon Road from Bouquet Canyon Road to Golden Oak Road. 4. On June 25, 1996, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to Steven Rodgers, General Engineering and Building Contractor, 21558 Placenta Canyon Road, Newhall, CA 91321. 5. Work under said contract was completed on October 17,1997, to the satisfaction of the Director of Transportation and Engineering Services, and was accepted by the City on November 4, 1997.
