*Study Sessions are for the purpose of allowing the City Council and staff to
informally discuss and better understand major issues currently before the City.

Item 1 PROPOSED CENTRAL CITY PLANNING EFFORT - The Center
6:00-7:00 p.m. City Specific Plan is proposed to _conduct planning for a 1,325 acre
irregularly shaped site fronting on the north side of Soledad Canyon Road
and the easterly side of Bouquet Canyon Road. This study would allow
for the joint planning of parks, roads, and land use as well as the
protection of the Santa Clara River.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive presentation and provide
direction regarding the preferred alternative.
Item 2 NORTH VALENCIA SPECIFIC PLAN/ANNEXATION - The Specific
7:00-8:00 p.m. Plan divides the area into six planning areas. Within the planning areas,
the applicant is proposing a mix of residential, commercial/retail,
industrial/business park, elementary school, park, open space and trail
uses.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive staff presentation.
Item 3 RISK MANAGEMENT/LIABILITY - All local governments practice
8:00-8:30 p.m. some form of risk management involving work in a wide variety of fields.
Risk Management means ensuring that employees and citizens work and
live in a safe environment and it means protecting the City's financial
resources.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept the report for informational
purposes only.
Item 4 TRANSIT MAINTENANCE FACILITY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
8:30-9:00 p.m. AND SITING STUDY - PHASE I - On June 24,1997, the City Council
authorized staff to select a consultant, Gannett Fleming, to undertake a
Transit Maintenance Facility (TMF) Plan and Siting Study. As the TMF
Plan is currently nearing completion and is scheduled to be presented to
the Council for approval in November, staff has asked Mr. Andy Freitas
of Gannett Fleming to provide a project update at this time.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive presentation and provide staff with
any additional guidance or suggestions deemed appropriate at this time.
