A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO ACCEPT ON BEHALF OF SAID
DISTRICT THE TRANSFER AND CONVEYANCE OF THE
STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS KNOWN AS
PRIVATE DRAIN NO. 1629
IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA FOR FUTURE OPERATION,
MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND IMPROVEMENT, AND
AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER AND CONVEYANCE THEREOF
WHEREAS, there have been dedicated to, or the City has otherwise acquired, the storm
drain improvements and drainage system known as Private Drain No. 1629, described in the
corresponding Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized and empowered to transfer and convey to the Los
Angeles County Flood Control District any storm drain improvements and drainage systems for
future operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District entered into an
agreement dated March 14, 1989, and recorded August 22, 1989, as Document Number
89-1346418, of the Official Records in the office of the County Recorder for the County of Los
Angeles, whereby the City made certain warranties about its future transfers and conveyances
of Flood Control facilities to the District; and
WHEREAS, the best public interest will be served by transfer and conveyance of the
storm drain improvements and drainage system described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto from
the City to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District for future operation, maintenance,
repair, and improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City does hereby request the Los
Angeles County Flood Control District to accept the transfer and conveyance of the storm drain
improvements and drainage system described in said Exhibit "A."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, subject to the acceptance thereof of the Board of
Supervisors of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, the City Engineer is directed and
ordered to prepare all necessary instruments and documents, including deed, to effectuate said
transfer and conveyance, and that the Mayor is authorized and instructed to execute said deed
and other instruments and documents. District shall have no obligation or responsibility to
maintain said storm drain, improvements, and drainage until all rights-of-way for said drain
now vested in the City and all other necessary rights-of-way therefore have been conveyed to
and accepted by District.
_ Reference is hereby made to District Drawing Nos. 337-F-110.1-.9, the plans and profile
of said storm drain improvements and drainage system on file in the office of the City Engineer
and on file in the office of the Chief Engineer of said District for further data as to the exact
location, extent, and description of said storm drain improvements and drainage system.

Private Drain No. 1629
A reinforced concrete pipe storm drain system and appurtenant structures for Tract No. 38837,
filed in Book 1001, pages 1-8; Tract No. 38838, filed in Book 1001, pages 28-35; Tract No. 33339,
filed in Book 1031, pages 55-66; and Tract No. 33746, filed in Book 1056, pages 91-96, inclusive,
of Maps, records of the County of Los Angeles generally described as follows:
Line "G":
Commencing at an outlet structure, Station 1+30.00 within a 14 -foot and variable width
easement for storm drain and storm drain ingress and egress purposes; thence southwesterly
to Valencia Boulevard; thence southwesterly to a 12 -foot wide easement for storm drain and
storm drain ingress and egress purposes; thence southwesterly to Del Monte Drive; thence
southwesterly to El Paseo Drive; thence southeasterly and southerly to a 10 -foot and variable
width easement for storm drain and storm drain ingress and egress purposes; thence southerly
and southeasterly to a terminal catch basin, Station 26+07.36, a distance of 2,477 feet, more or
less.
Laterals "G-1," "G-2," G-3," "G-4," "G-5," "G-6," "G-7," "G-8," and "G-9"
Connector pipes from Line "G" to catch basins.
Line "G-1":
Commencing at a manhole structure in Line "G," Station 7+58.90 within a 12 -foot easement for
storm drain and storm drain ingress and egress purposes; thence southeasterly within last
mentioned easement to Del Monte Drive; thence southeasterly, easterly, and southeasterly to
Sival Court; thence southerly to a 10 -foot wide easement for storm drain and storm drain
ingress and egress purposes; thence southeasterly and southwesterly to Via Roza Linda; thence
southwesterly to a terminal catch basin, Station 12+37.68, a distance of 1,143 feet, more or less.
Laterals "3," "4,", "5," "6," "7," and "12"
Connector pipes from Line "G-1" to catch basins.
Line "G-2":
Commencing at a manhole structure in Line "G", Station 9+67.16 within Del Monte Drive;
thence southwesterly to a manhole structure, Station 3+70.00, a distance of 300 feet, more or
less.
Laterals "9," "10," 13," and "14"
Connector pipes from Line "G-2" to catch basins.
Line "E":
Commencing at existing 30" R.C.P. per P.D. No. 1114, Station 1+53.50 within Valencia
Boulevard; thence southeasterly to a 10 -foot wide easement for storm drain and storm drain

ingress and egress; thence southwesterly and southeasterly to Del Monte Drive; thence
southwesterly to a terminal catch basin, Station 7+76.17, a distance of 623 feet, more or less.
Line "D":
Commencing at existing 30" R.C.P. per Std. Dwg. No. 46731, Valencia Boulevard, Station
2+30.00 within a 10 -foot and 15 -foot wide easement for storm drain and storm drain ingress and
egress purposes; thence southerly to a catch basin, Station 4+23.43, a distance of 193 feet, more
or less.
Line "H":
Commencing at R.C.P. box per P.D. No. 1596, Unit III, Station 1+08.25, within Del Monte Drive;
thence northeasterly and easterly to a catch basin, Station 5+53.67, a distance of 445 feet, more
or less.
Lateral "H-1":
A connector pipe from Line "H" to a catch basin.
Line "P':
Commencing at two 36" R.C.P.s per Std. Dwg. No. 46730, Valencia Boulevard, Station 2+23.00,
within a 20 -foot wide easement for storm drain purposes; thence southerly to a catch basin,
Station 2+27.00, a distance of 4 feet, more or less.
Line "J":
Commencing at existing 30" R.C.P. per Std. Dwg. No. 46730, Valencia Boulevard, Station
No. 2+15.41, within a 10 -foot wide easement for storm drain and storm drain ingress and egress
purposes; thence southeasterly, westerly, .and southerly to a catch basin, Station 4+76.65, a
distance of 261 feet, more or less.
Lines "K" and "K-1":
Connector pipes from P.D. No. 1111 within American Avenue to catch basins.
All as shown on District Drawing Nos. 337-F-110.1 through 337-F-110.9.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the transfer and conveyance hereby requested are
subject to each of the warranties described in the Agreement between the City and the District
dated March 14, 1989, and recorded August 22, 1989, as Document Number 89-1346418, of the
Official Records in the office of the County Recorder for the County of Los Angeles. Such
warranties by the City are incorporated here by this reference.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
