HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-02-10 - AGENDA REPORTS - EIR GVRANCH PROJ 97 212 (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: AGENDA REPORT February 10, 1998 City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by, SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH RINCON CONSULTANTS TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT (EIR) FOR THE GOLDEN VALLEY RANCH PROJECT (MASTER CASE NO. 97-212) DEPARTMENT: Planning & Building Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council authorize the City Manager or designee to enter into a professional services contract between the City and Rincon Consultants to prepare the EIR for the Golden Valley Ranch development, for a total contract amount not to exceed $89,540.00 from account #501-2380, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND City staff has selected Rincon Consultants to prepare the EIR for the Golden Valley Ranch project, which proposes approximately 866 residential units and 100 acres of commercial development on 1,300 acres. The project site lies on the east side of State Route 14, north of Placerita Canyon Road, within the unincorporated portion of the County of Los Angeles and an annexation will be required. Rincon Consultants was the highest rated firm of the three firms interviewed by City staff for the preparation of the EIR. Six firms were initially selected for the review of proposals. Three out of the six firms contacted submitted a response to the City's Request For Proposal. The cost for preparing the document will not exceed $89,540.00. The applicant has submitted a check to the City in this amount. City staff will administer the contract with the consultant. A draft document is expected by June.
