was $150,000.
The City began the public participation element of ,the Master Planning process for the
entire acreage on October 3, 1998. The Master Planning process is scheduled to be
complete in early 1999.
The construction and renovation of the 22,000 square foot Santa Clarita Sports Complex
(SCSC) is nearly complete, with a grand opening date set for Saturday, December 5, 1998.
The facility includes two basketball courts, four racquetball courts, a locker room with
shower facilities, rest rooms, office space, and storage facilities.
The basketball courts will have a Sport Court floor surface. This product was selected
because of its versatility for other events, its superior shock absorption, and lower initial (as
well as future) maintenance costs. The colors available through Sport Court also made it
an appealing choice.
