SUBJECT: SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD MEDIAN LANDSCAPING
PROJECT NO. 99-059 — PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
City Council accepts the work performed by Terra -Cal Construction, Inca on the Soledad
Canyon Road Median Landscaping, Project #99-059. Direct the City Clerk to file the attached
Notice of Completion. Direct staff to release the five percent retention 35 days after the Notice
of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as provided by law have been filed.
BACKGROUND
On August 3, 1998, the Soledad Canyon Road Median Landscaping Project 99-059 was
completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Service
Department. This project consists of landscaping improvement to the median from Rainbow
Glen to Crossglade, and on Whites Canyon south of Soledad Canyon Road to the Santa Clara
River.

Other. action as determined by City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for this expenditure in the amount of $550,000 have been budgeted in Fiscal Year
1996-97 in Account Numbers B0001455-8001 and B0001052-8001, and the actual project cost
was $508,466. This project was completed on time and within budget. This median will be
maintained by the City of Santa Clarita at an annual cost of $13,200.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-
of-way upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as:
Soledad Canyon Road Median Landscaping - Project No. 99-059.
2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvement is Soledad Canyon Road between Rainbow
Glen and Crossglade Avenue.
4. On April 22, 1997, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to Terra -
Cal Construction, Inc.
5. Work under said contract was completed on August 3, 1998, to the satisfaction of the
Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on
August 25, 1998.
