HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-06-09 - AGENDA REPORTS - SOUTH FORK TRAIL PH III (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: June 9, 1998 City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: `dock Putnam SUBJECT: SOUTH FORK TRAIL PHASE III — PROJECT NO. 81001 PROJECT ACCEPTANCE DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council accept the work performed by Pima Corporation dba Advanced Construction, on South Fork Trail Phase III -Project No. 81001.- Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion. Direct staff to release the project retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, as provided for by law. BACKGROUND On July 8, 1997, City Council awarded construction of Project 81001 to Pima Corporation dba Advanced Construction, which included the construction of an off-road pedestrian and bicycle path in the vicinity of vacated Newhall Avenue, Wiley Canyon Road, and Orchard Village Road. This part of the project was completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on June 5, 1998. Work was completed on schedule at a final cost of $172,273.25. The contract award amount for this part of the project was $176,105.50. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other direction as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT This project is funded through a combination of Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3, TDA Article 8, Public Facilities Act (PFA), and Developer fees. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-of-way and property easements upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as: South Fork Trail Phase III - Project No. 81001. 2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA 91355-2196. 3. The general location of said public improvement is: in the vicinity of vacated Newhall Avenue, Wiley Canyon Road, and Orchard Village Road, in the City of Santa Clarita, County of Los Angeles, State of California. 4. On July 8, 1997, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to: Pima Corporation dba Advanced Contruction, 938 Lincoln Boulevard, Santa Monica, California 90403. 5. Work under said contract was completed on June 5, 1998 to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on June 9, 1998.
