HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-11-10 - RESOLUTIONS - PARKING PROHIBITATIONS (2)RESOLUTION NO. 98-132 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA PROHIBITING THE STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING OF VEHICLES ALONG BOTH SIDES OF CIRCLE J RANCH ROAD, FROM SAN FERNANDO ROAD TO VIA PRINCESSA, BOTH SIDES OF PLUM CANYON ROAD FROM BOUQUET CANYON ROAD TO VIA JOYCE DRIVE, AND PROHIBITING THE STOPPING, STANDING, OR OVERNIGHT PARKING OF VEHICLES ALONG BOTH SIDES OF VIA PRINCESSA VMEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a no -stopping zone in areas where the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles is dangerous to those using the highway or the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles would unduly interfere with the free movement of traffic thereon; and VMEREAS, Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California provides for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain streets or highways or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles shall be prohibited along both sides of Circle J Ranch Road, from San Fernando Road to Via Princessa. SECTION 2. That the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles shall be prohibited along both sides of Plum Canyon Road, from Bouquet Canyon Road to Via Joyce Drive. SECTION 3. That the stopping, standing, or overnight (between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.) parking of vehicles shall be prohibited along both sides of Via Princessa between Circle J Ranch Road (western end) and Claibourne Lane (eastern end). This parking regulation will be established as "no overnight" parking until a future date when the roadway striping or the extension of Via Princessa would require the elimination of on -street parking. SECTION 4. That the no -stopping zone, as provided herein, shall apply when appropriate curb markings or signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Sections 1, 2, and 3.
