HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-07-13 - AGENDA REPORTS - ADDITIONAL FUNDS TRAFFIC ENG (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: July 13, 1999 City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by:[ Bahman Janka SUBJECT: ALLOCATION OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE INSPECTION SERVICES ACCOUNT FOR THE TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DIVISION, ACCOUNT NO. 4331-8029 DEPARTMENT: Transportation & Engineering Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council authorize that additional funds be allocated to the Inspection Services Account No. 4331-8029 in the amount of $80,000.00, and increase estimated revenues in Account No. 001-6132 by $40,013.50. Authorize the City Manager or designee to contract with the County of Angeles to provide the needed inspection services. BACKGROUND Each year, a certain amount of funds is budgeted for inspection services. Revenues to offset these expenditures are also budgeted. The construction of the Avenue Scott bridge west of McBean Parkway requires immediate inspection services. The bridge inspection is a highly specialized task, which cannot be provided by City staff at the present time. The extremely high demand and specialized nature of this service has necessitated contracting with the County of Los Angeles to perform this inspection. Accounting procedures require the City Council's authorization to increase the budget limit for this work. Offsetting revenues will be received to cover the cost of the additional demands. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Revenues in the amount of $39,986.50 were received in Fiscal Year 1998/99.
