SUBJECT: SANTA CLARITA CITY HALL, SECOND FLOOR TENANT
IMPROVEMENT — APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council approve the plans and specifications, and authorize the advertising for bids for
the construction of tenant improvements on City Hall's second floor to accommodate the
relocation of the City's Administrative Services Department.
BACKGROUND
Phase II of City Hall's Five -Year Space Plan includes moving the Administrative Services
Department from the third floor to the second floor and expanding the Transportation &
Engineering Services Department, as well as the Planning Division, into space vacated by
the Administrative Services Department.
This project constitutes a portion of Phase II and will provide additional office space on the
second floor of City Hall for the Administrative Services Department, currently located on
the third floor. Because the approved budget for Fiscal Year 1999-2000 includes 22
additional staff positions, this project will help accommodate anticipated service and
staffing demand increases.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Architect's Estimate for the construction of this project is $200,000.00, not including
furniture and phone and data cabling. Funds for this project have been approved and
budgeted in the General Fund for Fiscal Year 1999-2000. Currently, $412,960.00 is
available in Account No. F1003001/8001.
