PROJECT ACCEPTANCE DEPARTMENT: Transportation and Engineering Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council accept the work performed by E&M Constructors on the Curb and Gutter Repair and Access Ramp Installation, Project Nos. M3002 and T0004; direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion; and direct staff to release the ten percent retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as provided by law have been filed. Authorize the transfer of $8,000.00 from the 1999-2000 Slurry Seal Project, Account No. M3003001 to Account No. M3002001. BACKGROUND This project implemented the City's annual program to repair damaged curb and gutter, and install pedestrian access ramps. The list of locations was generated from residents' telephone calls received by Field Services and Transportation & Engineering Services Departments. The work completed is located throughout the City and is shown on Exhibits "A" and "B." On July 13, 1999, the City Council awarded a construction contract to E&M Constructors. The project was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on October 20, 1999. During construction, staff received numerous requests from residents to add locations for curb and gutter repairs and access ramp installation to the existing contract. To avoid delaying the work requested until the next annual repair project, staff added the locations to the existing contract, expediting the completion of the work requested and minimizing the impacts to the residents. The budget for the Access Ramp Installation, Project No. T0004 is $100,000.00. Additional funds in the amount of $8,000.00 are available from the Annual Slurry Seal project. The total budget is $270,546.85. The construction cost for this project is $253,496.78. The total project cost is $269,527.00, which includes design, inspection, project management, and construction costs.
