HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-01-26 - AGENDA REPORTS - DISASTER EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager DATE: January 26, 1999 Item to be presented SUBJECT: DESIGNATING OFFICIALS AUTHORIZED TO FILE APPLICATION TO THE STATE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES TO OBTAIN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE RELATING TO DISASTERS DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council approve Resolution No. 99-20 authorizing the City Manager and his designates as approved agents and that staff provide the Office of Emergency Services with a certified copy of Resolution No. 99-20. BACKGROUND Pursuant to Public Law 93-288, as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, it is required that the City Council designate an authorized agent to execute for and on behalf of the City. The agent and the designates are authorized to execute and file the application to the Office of Emergency Services for obtaining certain federal and/or state financial assistance. This universal resolution is not disaster -specific and will be kept on file by the Office of Emergency Services. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS 1. Designate agents following each federally declared disaster. 2. Other action as determined by City Council. FISCAL IMPACT None ATTACHMENTS Resolution No. 99-20.
