HASKELL CANYON ROAD/GROVEPARK-RIDGEGROVE DRIVES AND
STREET IMPROVEMENT ON HASKELL CANYON ROAD,
PROJECT NO. C0015

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council accept the work performed by L.A. Signal, Inc. on the traffic signal and
interconnect installation at Haskell Canyon Road/Grovepark-Ridgegrove Drives and street
improvement on Haskell Canyon Road, Project No. C0015; direct the City Clerk to file the
attached Notice of Completion; and direct staff to release the ten percent retention 35 days after
the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices, as provided by law, have been
filed.
BACKGROUND
The signalization of Haskell Canyon Road at Grovepark-Ridgegrove Drives was based on the
results of the City's 1998-1999 Traffic Signal Priority Evaluation Report. The results of this
evaluation were reviewed and approved by the City Council at their September 8, 1998 regular
meeting.
On April 27, 1999, the City Council awarded the contract for construction services to
L.A. Signal, Inc. for the subject project. This project involved the installation of a traffic signal
on Haskell Canyon Road at Grovepark-Ridgegrove Drives, signal interconnect on Haskell
Canyon Road from Grovepark-Ridgegrove Drives to Bouquet Canyon Road, and street
improvement on Haskell Canyon Road.
Project No. C0015 was completed to the City Engineer's satisfaction on August 27, 1999, and
was within budget.

FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost for construction was $173,239.00. This project was funded by two funding
sources, general fund and gas tax.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner on file, of a certain public
improvement known as TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT HASKELL CANYON
ROAD/GROVEPARK DRIVE-RIDGEGROVE DRIVES AND STREET IMPROVEMENT
ON HASKELL CANYON ROAD,
The City's address is 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita,
California 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvement is Haskell Canyon Road at Grovepark-
Ridgegrove Drives.
4. On April 27, 1999, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to
L.A. Signal, Inc., 15100 E. Nelson Avenue, Industry, California 91745.
Work under said contract was completed on August 27, 1999 to the satisfaction of the City
Engineer, and was accepted by the City on September 28, 1999,
