Increase estimated revenue by $88,370 in account number 453-5055 ($271,939 was estimated in the 1999-2000 budget) and appropriate $565 in account number 7446-7017, $500 in account 7446-7306, $500 in account 7446-7307, $1,000 in account 7446-7308, $83,305 in account 7446-8110, and $2,500 in account 7446-8610. BACKGROUND In July 1999, City Council approved acceptance of Job Training Partnership Act grant funds from the County of Los Angeles Private Industry Council through the Antelope Valley Workforce Development Consortium. The City of Santa Clarita received notification that funding for the 1999-2000 program year would be at or above the 1998-1999 funding ($271,939). The Antelope Valley Workforce Development Consortium, approved final grant award amounts on October 26, 1999. The City of Santa Clarita has been awarded $360,939, an increase of $88,370 over the projected amount. Grant funding will be used to continue operation of the Santa Clarita One -Stop Career Center co -located with the Santa Clarita Employment Development Department Office. Services offered at the One -Stop Career Center include job training and employment assistance. The 1999-2000 program goal is to place a minimum of 55 people in jobs. ALTERNATIVE ACTION Decline acceptance of funds. Other direction as determined by City Council. City of Santa Clarita Agenda Report Page 2 FISCAL IMPACT The total project cost of this program is estimated to be $360,309 to be offset completely by grant revenue. There is no City match required.
