SUBJECT: 1998/99 ANNUAL PARK REHABILITATION PROGRAM
SANTA CLARITA AND NORTH OAKS PARK POOLS
PROJECT NO. P0013 — PROJECT ACCEPTANCE

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council accept the work performed by Sturgeon General on the 1998/99 Annual Park
Rehabilitation Program Project No. P0013. Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of
Completion. Direct staff to release the ten percent retention 35 days after the Notice of
Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices, as provided by law, have been filed.
BACKGROUND
On November 24, 1998, Council awarded a contract to Sturgeon General for the construction of
this project. This portion of Phase I involved replacement of the pool deck and drains, as well as
tiling and replastering of the pools at Santa Clarita and North Oaks Parks. The project was
completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Field Services on June 14, 1999. Due to rain
delays, the project was completed after the scheduled completion date, but in time to meet
recreation program needs. The project was completed within budget.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total budget for this portion of Phase I was $251,900, and the total cost was $237,600. The
$14,300 savings was used to repair conduit lighting damage that occurred on the site during
construction.
