HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-07-13 - AGENDA REPORTS - OCJP JUVENILE ACCT GRANT (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager Approval Item to be presented by: Adele Macpherson DATE: July 13, 1999 SUBJECT: OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING (OCJP) JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY GRANT DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council accept the OCJP Juvenile Accountability Grant. Increase estimated revenue by $14,709, account number 001-5175, and transfers in by $1,634, account number 453-6810. Transfer $1,634 from account number 7411-7312 to transfers out, account number 001-9501, for required cash match (per City Council Agenda Item No.4, February 23, 1999). Appropriate Budget as follows: AMOUNT ACCOUNT $4,085 7449-7011 $10,258 7449-8001 $2,000 7449-8610 Authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute any contract agreements or change orders arising out of this program. BACKGROUND On February 23, 1999, City Council adopted Resolution No. 99-25 approving application for the OCJP Juvenile Accountability Grant. Staff submitted an application and recently received notification approving the application. The City of Santa Clarita is being granted $14,709 from OCJP. This funding requires a cash match of $1,634, which City Council approved on February 23, 1999. The total program cost is $16,343 to be used to promote greater accountability of juvenile offenders in the juvenile justice system. ALTERNATIVE ACTION Decline acceptance of grant funds.
