SUBJECT: A TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT
ANNEXATION NO. 307
RESOLUTION 99-101
DEPARTMENT: Planning and Building Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Adopt Resolution 99-101, approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax
revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 307.
BACKGROUND
Los Angeles County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32 provide wastewater treatment services
cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide wastewater
treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the service area
boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a tax -
sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation Districts is adopted by the
public agencies responsible for providing services to the subject property.
Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must
determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For this
annexation, a total of 1.2380 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the land area
involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District No. 26. Of this total, the
City is contributing 0.1242 percent of its revenues from the annual tax increment for the
annexation area.
The proposed annexation area is for 99 single family homes and 148 multi -family homes on 56
acres located at the intersection of Circle J Ranch Road and Via Princessa. The property and
development is consistent with the city's General Plan land use designation for the site (RM -
Residential Moderate). The project and its environmental impact report were approved by the
Santa Clarita City Council on October 13, 1998.
Adopted; Agenda item: aL
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS

FISCAL IMPACT

impact to the City.
