come back to Council as part of a comprehensive fee review.
BACKGROUND
Since the opening of the Santa Clarita Sports Complex on December 7, 1995, staff has
received public requests to rent the facility. The Parks, Recreation, and Community
Services Department is always interested in addressing the needs of the community by
providing affordable places to hold meetings, functions, and organized events. As a result,
in 1995 a Facilities Policies and Procedures guideline was presented to the Parks and
Recreation Commission, and approved by City Council on April 10, 1995. The Santa
Clarita Sports Complex will adhere to the facility guidelines that currently exist, and all
deposits and liability insurance will remain consistent.

Gymnasium — 3 -hour minimum rental
Non-profit Groups
$50/hour first 2 hours
$40/hour after 3 hours

In 1996, Administrative Services and the Management Institute, through a study,
developed a fee structure and cost recovery plan for each department. Since the City did
not have two gymnasiums or racquetball courts when the study was completed, it is now
