A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
REQUESTING RENEWAL OF THE AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita and the County of Los Angeles by and through their
respective legislative bodies on June 23, 1988, following the incorporation of the City of Santa
Clarita, entered into an agreement whereby the County of Los Angeles through their Sheriffs
Department thereof agreed to provide law enforcement services within the City of Santa
Clarita; and,
WHEREAS, the existing law enforcement agreement between the City of Santa Clarita and the
County of Los Angeles will expire on June 30, 1999, unless the City Council by resolution
adopted prior to July 1, 1999, requests the Board of Supervisors to renew said agreement and
said Board of Supervisors agrees to renew said agreement; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita states its intent and desire to renew
said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does resolve as follows:
r SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles be requested to renew that
certain agreement entitled "City -County Law Enforcement Services Agreement" heretofore
made and entered into between the City of Santa Clarita and the County of Los Angeles
effective July 1, 1999.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall forward
a certified copy thereof to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
