A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA
TO ESTABLISH A PASSENGER LOADING/UNLOADING ZONE
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF PAMPLICO DRIVE
ADJACENT TO JAMES FOSTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California provides
for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain streets
or highways or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, a request was made to establish a passenger loading/unloading zone
located on the south side of Pamplico Drive adjacent to James Foster Elementary School;
and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish
a passenger loading/unloading zone near the school.
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That a passenger loading/unloading zone along the south side of
Pamplico Drive from the school crosswalk to 260 feet east of the crosswalk adjacent to
James Foster Elementary School shall be established between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and
8:15 a.m.
SECTION 2. That the passenger loading/unloading zone shall apply when
appropriate signs and/or curb markings giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as
described in Section 1.
SECTION 3. That staff shall install the necessary signs and/or curb markings to
effect this resolution.
