A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA
PROHIBITING THE STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING
OF VEHICLES ALONG BOTH SIDES OF
SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD NEAR THE SAUGUS SPEEDWAY
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish
a no -stopping zone in areas where the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles is
dangerous to those using the highway, or the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles
would unduly interfere with the free movement of traffic thereon; and
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California provides
for lodal authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain streets
or highways or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles shall be
prohibited along both sides of Soledad Canyon Road near the Saugus Speedway, located at
22500 Soledad Canyon Road.
SECTION 2. That the no -stopping zone, as provided herein, shall apply when
appropriate curb markings or signs giving adequate notice thereof have been
placed/removed as described in Section 1.
