HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-06-13 - AGENDA REPORTS - 2000/2001 BUDGET 2001-2005 CIP (2)PUBLIC HEARING i[VA03 SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT: CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Appro, Item to be presented June 13, 2000 2000/2001 BUDGET AND 2001-2005 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM City Manager RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council conduct the public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2000/2001 Operating Budget and Five-year CIP, and schedule the budget for adoption at the June 27, 2000 meeting of the City Council. BACKGROUND The 2000/2001 Fiscal Year Budget and 2001-2005 Capital Improvement Program represents the City's ongoing commitment to provide the community with the utmost quality and level of service attainable. The proposed budget has total appropriations of $105.5 million, up more than 8% from last year's $97.5 million adopted budget. This includes $32.3 million in Capital Projects, $20.1 million in Personnel costs, $52.9 million in Operations and Maintenance, and approximately $300,000 in Capital Outlay. The City Council has reviewed the proposed budget at two Study Sessions and has provided staff with comments and recommended changes. Staff will provide a listing of budget additions at the meeting. Staff will also provide additional recommendations as requested by the City Council. Staff presented the Budget and CIP to the Parks & Recreation Commission on June 1, 2000. Additionally, the Capital Improvement Program was presented to the Planning Commission on June 6" who made a finding that the scheduled 2000/2001 projects, as well as the Five-year Capital Improvement Program, is consistent with the goals and policies of the General Plan. &budget l eeagda613.doe Continued To: Apppn,�,., rnp CITY OF SANTA CLARITA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001 AND THE PROPOSED FIVE-YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR 2001-2005 IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN A Public Hearing will be held before the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita to consider the proposed budget for fiscal year 2000-2001 and the proposed Five -Year Capital Improvement Program for 2001-2005 in the City of Santa Clarita.
