HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-02-22 - AGENDA REPORTS - ACCEPT CENTRAL PARK PROJ NOC (2)CONSENT CALENDAR CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approi Item to be presented DATE: February 22, 2000 SUBJECT: CENTRAL PARK - PROJECT NO. 99-057 PROJECT ACCEPTANCE DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council accept the work performed by Valley Crest on Central Park. Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion. Direct staff to release the project retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as provided by law have been filed. City Council approve $10,000 increase to the Willdan Contract for additional inspection services at Central Park. Funds are available in Account No. P400-1450. BACKGROUND On October 13, 1998 and January 12, 1999, City Council awarded Central Park - Project 99-057 to Valley Crest. This project includes four lighted softball fields, four lighted sports fields, a tot-Iot, two restroom facilities, a park office building, a maintenance building, paved parking lot to accommodate 300 vehicles, interior concrete walkways with lighting, landscape and irrigation, perimeter walking and jogging path, picnic tables and benches. In addition, City Council approved $130,000 to Willdan Associates to provide project inspection services. It became necessary to increase this amount by $10,000 to complete the project. The project budget was available for this increase. This project was completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on January 28, 2000. The original project scope was completed within the approved budget.
